LANGKAWI, 5 NOVEMBER - Salam Desa Madani 4.0@Pulau Tuba  Programme organised by the Sekretariat Sukarelawan dan Teknologi Hijau (SUKTEK) is a programme aimed at creating students who love volunteerism by inculcating their dedication to the community of Pulau Tuba, Langkawi, Kedah. In addition, this program can provide opportunities for students of Kolej Tan Sri Aishah Ghani who are interested in gaining experience in community programs to participate in volunteer activities. The programme was successfully held for 3 days, and 2 nights dated 3, 4 & 5 October 2023 at Pulau Tuba, Langkawi, Kedah.

This program is one of the efforts of the College Representative Council of Kolej Tan Sri Aishah Ghani to inculcate the properties of assisting the students of Kolej Tan Sri Aishah Ghani as well as respecting the environment through mangrove swamp planting activities. In turn, identify the potential among students to communicate with the external community.

Through this programme, students can experience the real situation of community life in the village as well as create a close bond with the residents through the activities that have been held. The programme began with the Handover of Adopted Families on 3rd October 2023 which was presented by the Chief Village, Mrs. Nor ’Ain Che Hamzah. Through the practical concept of the foster family, the students can add the experience by experiencing life living in the village as well as strengthening the relationship with the community of Pulau Tuba.

The second day which is on 4th October 2023 started with beach sports with a purpose to enhance health and boost the spirit, also strengthening the bond with the community. The programme continued with a slot that was participated by 24 people from youth of KEDA that was held to improve their leadership skills. This slot was led by Encik Mohd Ziyad Afiq Mohd Zaharim with the help of the program committee. Next, was the knowledge transfer slot, where the students as well as the teachers are learning to plant without using a hoe. Through this activity, students can gain new knowledge and experience as well as learning something new and useful for their daily life. In the evening, the students are spending their time preparing for the Cultural Night.

The programme continued with the Cultural Night which had the gendang performance as well as an opening performance from the students of Kolej Tan Sri Aishah Ghani. Through this activity, students can get to know the culture and the uniqueness of Kedah as an additional knowledge. On the last day, the programme ended with a meeting at Lembaga Pembangunan Langkawi also known as LADA. It is hoped that this program will bring a positive impact to all participants, local community and all of them who are involved directly or indirectly.
