BANGI, 18 MEI 2024- The Salam Amal program organized by the Secretariat of Community Volunteers and Green Technology (SUKTEK), College Representative Council Session 2023/2024, Tan Sri Aishah Ghani College is a program that aims to produce students who love volunteer activities by helping and instilling devotional service in an orphanage which is Rumah Bakti Al-Kausar, Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor. Salam Amal is a program led by Mizatul Hanis Mohd Huzir held on 18 May 2024. This program was attended by 31 students from UPM consisting of 28 local students and 3 international students from Thailand and Nigeria. This program is fully implemented at Rumah Bakti Al Kausar, Bangi, Selangor. This program is held for one day and is filled with 3 main slots that are interesting and beneficial to all students. The first slot starts with Ice Breaking. All the participants were instructed to move to the field to start the ice-breaking slot because the house is still under repair due to the fire that occurred on April 18, 2024. The ice-breaking slot started with introductions from all the facilitators involved and continued with the warm-up game Eggs, Chickens, and Dinosaurs. The second slot starts with outdoor activities. All participants were instructed to form groups based on the color of the given candy and identify their group members. The slot continued with the first activity, which was TV Rust—then continued with the second activity which was Musical Chair, and ended with the candy in flour activity. After that, all participants were allowed to rest and tidy up before it continued with the knowledge transfer slot which was scented candle making with Tan Sri Aishah Ghani College's Entrepreneurship Secretariat. Scented candle making begins with an explanation of the ingredients needed and the steps involved in making a scented candle. After that, the participants were divided into three groups to perform three different tasks at the same time, namely installing the wick in the jar, melting the wax, and folding the box for packaging the scented candle. Because of that, the process of scented candle-making ended early. At 1.00 p.m., the participants were allowed to rest and have lunch while waiting for the candle to harden. Once the participants rested and had a meal, the program continued with the opening and closing ceremony for the Salam Amal program. The ceremony went smoothly. At 3.00 p.m., all participants prepare to go home and we arrive at Universiti Putra Malaysia at 3.23 p.m.
