Majlis Malam Permata Gemilang 2022

[SERDANG, 28 MAY] – Stepping into the endemic phase of Covid-19, the College Representative Council, Kolej Tiga Belas (K13), Session 2021/2022 has organized the Permata Gemilang Night 2022 (MPG'22) which is located at the Great Hall, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Culture and Arts Center ( PKKSSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia. The dinner which has become a tradition every year with the exception of the last two years was officiated with success by YBhg. Datuk Astaman Abdul Aziz, chairman of the Tan Sri Aishah Ghani Trust Fund.

MPG’22 aims primarily as a medium to give appreciation and awards to the students of the Thirteenth College, especially to the final year students who have given a lot of services and made the name of the Thirteen College during their stay at this college.

Inspired by the Malay film Magika, directed by Edry Abdul Halim, the dinner attended by 197 people from the Bachelor and Foundation of the Thirteenth College was decorated with a mix of traditional and modern costumes. In addition, guests were treated to a variety of delicious food and beverages while being featured with very interesting performances from the students of the Thirtreenth College themselves. Apart from that, the ceremony was also witnessed awarding of awards from nine categories to 15 students of the Thirteenth College. The Prime Minister's Award for the Permata Gemilang Night 2022, the Aisyah Ghani Award (Best Overall Female Student) with RM3000 in cash was awarded to Ashma Hani Azhar, a final year student and former Thirteenth College Representative Council for three sessions.

Apart from that, the ceremony also saw eight more awards presented to 14 recipients. The recipient of the Abdul Aziz Abu Hassan Prize (Best Overall Male Student) was given to Ahmad Shukry Yahya while the recipient of the Mohamad Rashid Prize (College Devotion Service) was awarded to Muhammad Aqil Naim Othman and Fatin Ayuni Kamaludin. Next, the Anugerah Gemilang Putra Akademik (Best Academic) was awarded to Mohamad Azrisyafiq Mohamed Juhari and Justin Kok Shao Loong while the Anugerah Gemilang Putra (Athlete & Sportswoman) was given to Ahmad Zakwan Mat Zaini and Sazriena Ramli. Next, Anugerah Gemilang Putra (Arts and Culture) was awarded to Muhamad Imran Mansor and Ahmad Zafar Daniel Ahmad Affandi while Anugerah Gemilang Putra (Entrepreneurship) was awarded to Raja Muhammad Arzaman Raja Azmi and Nur Izzati Mat Nazeli.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of the Anugerah Gemilang Putra Tunas Harapan (Leadership of Hope) awarded to Ajmal Hadi Has-Yun Khairusy Syakirin while the Anugerah Gemilang Tunas Cemerlang (Special Principal) was given to Aiman   Iqbal Ibrahim and Arwienraj a/l Muniandy.

Saudara Muhammad Haziq Muhammad Azry Fauzy, the director of the Permata Gemilang Night Ceremony, in his speech, hoped that this dinner would be a yardstick for the upcoming ceremony.

"Indeed, the hope does not depend on the size of a person's body but the soul of the individual. Let me quote a group of words from the famous philosopher, Socrates which reads; ‘It's really a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength that his body can have.’ He said again.
